LUMIERE

Lumiere is the name of the installation designed by Studio Elementare and Deamicisarchitetti for OLEV Light, which animated the interior and exterior spaces of HI LITE Next during FuoriSalone 2023. An experimental cinema came to life in the heart of Brera during Design Week, where light, in various forms, was the star of the space: light as a product, light as film, and light as projection.
In the HI LITE showroom spaces, transformed into a cinema hall, The Opening by Davide Rapp and Paramount by Iñigo Cabo were projected, both video narratives of new Milan architectures: the NTT DATA headquarters by Deamicisarchitetti and the Segreen Business Park expansion by Studio Elementare.
The outdoor space, envisioned as the cinema foyer, featured a light and semi-transparent structure with an illuminated ceiling entirely created using Beam Steak Nuance lamps by OLEV Light, designed by Marc Sadler. At the end of the week, these lamps were reused as individual lighting fixtures, and the components of the metal structure—available for rental—were employed for a new setup.
The two video pieces showcase two possible ways to convey a cinematic narrative of architecture, where the interaction between the camera and the architectural structure is approached in different ways.
