900 + 100 MILANO
The project proposal is rooted in moral references inherent to the spirit of the city, such as openness and sharing.
From this emerges the idea of a large, open room on the ground floor, accessible to the public, which we have named Open Art. This space, with free entry, is intended to serve as the equivalent of a spiral path and Fourth Estate room by Pellizza da Volpedo in the adjacent Museo del Novecento. Lo spazio Arte Aperta è pensato per ospitare opere, installazioni, laboratori, performance in un luogo comodo come un salotto della città e dove sarà possibile servirsi dell’annesso Book Shop. An open place to read, rest, and contemplate in comfort.
The exhibition route begins at a common entrance. The exhibition path begins with a common entrance. From the current reconfigured ticket area, visitors enter the first floor via a spiral ramp, where they can choose to either follow the 20th-century art path or head directly to spaces dedicated to contemporary art.
Still adhering to the logic of dynamic openness to reality, the contemporary art exhibition experience is conceived as a free sequence of ever-changing spaces where work, research, sharing, and experimentation take place.
From the Open Art space, through Portaluppi’s beautiful and tall wooden door, visitors can access the Natural Vault performance area via a reserved staircase and elevator, along with a café with a terrace overlooking the Madonnina.
